Introduction

The year of 2011 has been very important for Wikimedia Sverige and we have passed several milestones. During the autumn the chapters first office was inaugurated and in December the first paid position was advertised. The budget increased this year, as well as the number of members and several large projects were completed and new ones were started. As last year, the chapter had a stand at the Gothenburg book fair and in November for the first time at the Photo fair in Älvsjö.

Among other major activities the European photo hunt Wiki Loves Monuments was arranged in cooperation with the Nordic museum and the National Heritage Board. At the start of the year we did the project Iternet in Sweden with a consulting project manager. As of now, the preparations for the projects Wiki-skills and Europeana Awareness are on-going.

During the autumn the chapter has been working intensly on preparing for a major expansion during 2012. At an extra annual meeting the programplan for 2012 was accepted. During December the last parts of negotiations with Wikimedia Foundations were agreed upon which ensures major financial support for Wikimedia Sverige which means that the chapter can implement the programplan for 2012. In the plans there are several paid positions and the hiring started at the end of December.
