Lediga jobb/General Secretary of Expert Committee (Part-Time)
Are you passionate about supporting effective communication and transparent workflows? Are you interested in content partnerships and global GLAM initiatives? We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as an Expert Committee General Secretary. The role will be to support the functioning of the Expert Committee, which guides and prioritizes the work of the Helpdesk of the Wikimedia Content Partnerships Hub. The secretary will prepare, support and facilitate the meetings of the committee and make sure that the insights and recommendations are compiled and communicated.
This part-time position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with the experts in the Expert Committee as well as global communities, ensuring efficient coordination and impactful communication of the committee's work.
Position Overview
- Role: Expert Committee General Secretary
- Commitment: estimated 40 hours per month (remote), flexible timezones but expected to take part at the monthly meeting of the Expert Committee (time to be decided).
- Compensation: approx. €650 / month
- Term: 6 months, potentially prolonged
Key Responsibilities (and estimated time commitment)
1. Meeting Support and Facilitation (1 hour/month)
- Attend the monthly Expert Committee meeting, actively listening to discussions.
- Take detailed notes.
2. Meeting Preparation (4 hours/month)
- Develop and distribute agendas and meeting invitations for the Expert Committee.
3. Post-Meeting Summarization (8 hours/month)
- Organize and refine meeting notes.
- Share summaries (adhering to Chatham House Rules) with the committee and wider audience.
- Highlight key insights, potential next steps, and additional work required.
4. Information Management (10 hours/month)
- Publish and maintain up-to-date information about requests on Meta-Wiki (simply "Meta" below).
5. Community Communication (10 hours/month)
- Share progress updates from the Helpdesk and Expert Committee.
- Engage relevant groups on platforms such as Telegram and Facebook.
- Provide regular updates on Meta pages.
6. Collaborative Outreach (7 hours/month)
- Work with the Project Manager to inform global communities about the Helpdesk's existence.
- Draft and disseminate content for channels like the Diff blog and mailing lists.
What We’re Looking For
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Good level of English
- Familiarity with Meta-Wiki, Telegram, Facebook, and similar platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, global environment.
- Experience in note-taking, meeting facilitation, and public communication.
- Some experience/insights of GLAM collaboration and technical projects
