Lessons from this month
- What were your major accomplishments in the past month, and how did you help to achieve movement goals?
Response:
- Great interest in the education program in Sweden from teachers and others within the education sector. This is due to intense work of sharing the ideas about Wikipedia as a resource in education from the Wikimedia Sverige office to teachers and others around the country.
- What were your major setbacks in the past month (e.g., programs that were not successful)?
Response:
- Too much giving away free workshops and seminars for the education program as a point for teachers during a teaching day with too little obligation to provide anything back. A model to prevent this is just about to be presented for staff and boardmembers within Wikimedia Sverige.
- What factors (organizational, environmental) enabled your success?
Response:
- Enthusiastic staff
- Interesting and rewarding partnerships with schools, other educational organisations and museums.
- What unanticipated challenges did you encounter and how did this affect what you were able to accomplish?
Response:
- No surprises this month.
- What changes might you make in executing your initiatives into the next month?
Response:
- To a greater extent, make those we work with commit to a long term cooperation instead of one-offs.
Additional information
- Provide any other relevant information that may be helpful or relevant for the FDC (e.g., links to any media coverage, more detailed reports, more detailed financial information).
Response:
- The Swedish University of Agriculture announces a Wikipedian in Academy. (Covered by UNT.)
- The Education program shares expeiences on the Wikimedia Foundation blog.
- As always our bookkeeping is available online.
- Three posts on our blog about Wiki skills, an upcoming Commons instruction movie and Wiki Loves Public Art.
- The magazine Företagsminnen had an article about company history on Wikipedia and announced the article creation competition.
